Track Note On/Off Volume, Dynamics Tab
User Level: Advanced
MIDI File Usage: Playback
For each note in a MIDI file created by intelliScore, there can be up to five pieces of information: when the note starts, the volume of the note when it starts, changes in the volume while the note is being held, when the note stops, and the volume of the note when it stops. Note On Volume refers to how quickly a note is struck and is recorded in the MIDI file as a "Note On Velocity" event. Note Off Volume indicates how quickly a note is released and is recorded in the MIDI file as a "Note Off Velocity" event. Usually, velocity events map to volume. Sometimes intelliScore assigns to certain notes velocities that are too slow, resulting in these notes being too quiet when the MIDI file is played. In this situation you can prevent velocity information from being included in the MIDI file by unchecking the appropriate boxes. When the velocity feature is deactivated, the every note will be assigned the same velocity. In this case, you can adjust this velocity by specifying the Output Volume.
