I'm having difficulty tapping the tempo starting on the very first beat.

Possible Solutions:

Start tapping on the first beat of the second measure. When you finish tapping, the Tempo Extender window will appear, and intelliScore will ask you if you want it to automatically extend your taps. Tell it you want to extend your taps to the beginning.
