Hard disk space
Your hard disk will need space to store your audio files. This can be substantial depending on the number, length, and format of these files. The table below will give you some idea of how much wave file storage you would need for each minute of music depending on the recording settings you use. MP3, WMA, and AAC files are compressed and consume less space but have lower quality than uncompressed files such as wave files. The rows in italics show the preferred minimum settings. The wave file settings in the last row are equivalent to the digital recordings from an audio CD.
